I am looking to upgrade from the stardard size 16v front setup to that using VR6 calipers off a Mk3 Golf and Mk2 Golf G60 280mm discs. I am running 15" BBS Solitude alloys (same od as the VR6). Has anybody done this before?

:?

yoyo dudes, 280's will only fit under 15's and bigger so no probs there 8-) only thing is mk3 vr's changed over to 288mm discs in 1995ish so will have to be a real early vr or gti also mk2 seat ibiza cupra sport (16v) have 280's as this is what im useing :D as long as your running the 16v hubs they will all fit straight on with no mods whatsoever so if you cant afford the 300 quid for the willys like scott then go grab yourself some 280s as they will amaze you compared to the standard 256's :o

Am going to be running Mk2 Golf G60 discs at 280mm, will i need to make brackets for the caliper to fit or not?

You will need rado g60/cupra sport mk2 16v/early mk3 golf gti or vr6 carriers and calipers , the carrier allows the extra disc size and the pistons are bigger on all so would require both m8 :D no mods or brackets are needed just the right parts 8-)
